About
Artist liaison services, exhibition direction, social media, event production, and various art-related management for MAGIC HOUSE, an art cafe and restaurant in Setagaya, Tokyo.
“Bringing together a community of experts referred to as Magicians—chefs, artists, musicians, designers, and craftspeople from across Japan and abroad—MAGIC HOUSE is a place where food, art, music, design, fashion, and creativity of all genres comes together in one space. With creative direction from LA-based artist, designer, and producer Darren Romanelli, MAGIC HOUSE is a product of passion, teamwork, and creative collaboration across every realm of aesthetics.
Rotating art installations feature museum-worthy works by Richard Prince, Jonas Wood, Peter Saul, and more. A permanent site-specific mural and installation by Barry McGee, as well as a striking Tom Sachs installation of 100 of his signature “chawans” (tea cups), make the cafe a worthy art destination in itself.
To commemorate the grand opening, jazz legend Arturo Sandoval composed and recorded an original album, SANGÚ, for the café. The physical record will be released and sold exclusively at MAGIC HOUSE. The album marks the first part of a long-term music project, with more releases to come.”
